In 1919, Badekow opened his first independent photography studio in Berlin. In the years that followed, Badekow ran one of Berlin’s most renowned portrait studios. He photographed famous dancers and actresses (e.g. the young Marlene Dietrich), as well as other artists and styles, including Marilyn Monroe, Albert Einstein, Salvador Dalí, Jumpology and surrealist photography
