Fritz Henle* (Dortmund 1909 – 1993 San Juan) Gypsy in Granada, 1930s vintage gelatine silver print 22.3 x 16.6 cm photographer’s stamp on the reverse ESTIMATE €300 – €700 STARTING PRICE €300 Fritz Henle was a German-born photographer, known as ‘Mr Rollei’ for his use of the 2.25-inch square format film used in the Rolleiflex camera. His career spanned more than 60 years, during which he amassed an archive of over 110,000 negatives, featuring images from Europe, India, Japan, Hawaii, the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean. PLEASE NOTE: The purchase price comprises the highest bid plus the buyer’s premium, sales tax and, where applicable, the artists’ resale rights fee and platform fee. In the case of standard taxation (marked °), a premium of 24% is added to the highest bid. The mandatory sales tax of 13 per cent (20 per cent for photographs) is added to the sum of the highest bid, the buyer’s premium and the platform fee. The buyer’s premium amounts to 28 per cent in the case of differential taxation. The sales tax is included in the differential taxation.
