Kretz* (Cologne 1933 – 2020 Hamburg) Shoe shop in Cologne, West Germany, 1966 vintage gelatin silver print, 17.8 x 12.6 cm inscribed on the reverse: ‘Shoe shop in Cologne, West Germany, 1966’, along with the photographer’s stamp and a Keysone stamp ESTIMATE €150 – €400 STARTING PRICE €150 Perry Kretz was a German-American photographer and war correspondent known for his reporting on wars and conflicts. He covered the Vietnam War for *Stern* magazine and was the oldest accredited journalist during the Iraq War. Kretz won the World Press Photo Award twice.
