Italian photographer Egidio Scaioni moved to Paris in the early 1920s, where he worked extensively in fashion and advertising. His work appeared in the leading fashion magazines. He specialised in fashion and collaborated with great couturiers such as Maggy Rouff and, in particular, Lucien Lelong. Egidio Scaioni is also one of the pioneers of colour photography, which was introduced in magazines in the 1930s for advertising purposes.
