Paul Wolff (Mulhouse 1887 – 1951 Frankfurt am Main) Rome at night vintage gelatin silver print 23.5 x 17.4 cm on the reverse: photographer’s stamp (“Dr Paul Wolff”), as well as a Schostal agency stamp and a Wiener Photo-Kurier stamp ESTIMATE €200 – €800 STARTING PRICE €200 Paul Wolff was a German photographer and a pioneer in the field of 35mm photography. In particular, he was a pioneer of Leica photography. The agency photographs by Wolff and his partner Tritschler offered a wide variety of images—ranging from fashion, advertising and still-life photography to architectural, industrial and landscape images, as well as travel features and sports shots. They employed the stylistic devices of New Objectivity, PLEASE NOTE: The purchase price comprises the highest bid plus the buyer’s premium, VAT and, where applicable, the artists’ resale rights fee and platform fee. In the case of standard taxation (marked °), a premium of 24% is added to the highest bid. The mandatory sales tax of 13 per cent (20 per cent for photographs) is added to the sum of the highest bid, the buyer’s premium and the platform fee. The buyer’s premium amounts to 28 per cent in the case of differential taxation. The sales tax is included in the differential taxation.
