Untitled (series). 1971. Embossed print on heavy-weight vellum. 60 x 50 cm. Signed, dated and numbered. - Corners with barely noticeable scuffs and very subtle stains. Overall in very good condition. A magnificent, powerful print featuring nail embossings that almost fill the entire sheet.
One of 150 copies. - This work is characterised by the element of the nail, which is undoubtedly Günther Uecker’s most important means of expression. The unique arrangement and sequencing of several hundred nails beneath the paper creates a vibrant space defined by the interplay of light and shadow. The German artist was a member of the ZERO group from the 1960s onwards, alongside artists such as Heinz Mack and Otto Piene, and is regarded as one of the most outstanding pioneers of post-war German art.
