Vertical composition. c. 1976. Acrylic on baking paper. 62.5 x 50 cm. Signed. On the reverse, bears the Galerie Rottloff edition stamp. - Small areas of paint flaking in places. Due to the impasto application of paint, there is occasional fine craquelure. The top right-hand corner shows slight creasing. Overall in very good condition. A magnificent, harmoniously composed work with a clear structure.
Included: Certificate from Ms Müller-Jensen confirming the authenticity of the work, bearing the stamp of Galerie Rottloff, Karlsruhe, 2020. - Zangs is one of the defining figures of post-war German art, whose work is characterised by a consistent engagement with material, process and reduction.
