Geometric Abstraction – Op Art Vasarely, Victor Tridim. 1989. Multiple. Collage of multicoloured cardboard elements on black, sturdy textured cardboard, laminated over the entire surface with white vellum. 88.5 x 53 cm (105 x 81.5 cm). Signed and numbered (E.A) and bearing a further, barely legible signature in another hand. On the reverse, stamped ‘Circle Fine Art 1989’ and bearing the artist’s copyright stamp. – Slight surface wear. Slightly faded in the former passe-partout cut-out. On the reverse, traces of mounting. The lower edge has small tears and, in places, slight paper loss. Overall in good condition. An excellent collage with vibrant colour contrasts and a clearly structured, rhythmically arranged composition of surfaces with a strong visual presence. One of 20 E.A. copies. - Published by Circle Fine Art, 1989. - In his collages and graphic works, Victor Vasarely developed a consistently systematic visual language based on the interaction of form, colour and optical illusion.
