We would like to thank the Estate of Friedrich Gräsel for the retrospective inclusion in the catalogue raisonné. - This stainless steel model embodies Friedrich Gräsel’s exploration of industrial materials and structural forms. Using prefabricated steel elements, he developed sculptural structures that create a dynamic interplay between space and volume. After studying in Munich and Hamburg, Gräsel turned his attention entirely to sculpture in 1968 and became one of the leading figures in post-war German sculpture. His work gained international recognition in 1972 with his participation in the 36th Venice Biennale as the official contribution of the Federal Republic of Germany.
