Overall in very good condition. A colour-rich work in vibrant watercolour. This drawing is characteristic of the oeuvre of Bernd Berner, who, over a creative period spanning 50 years, repeatedly created ‘spatial planes’ in which he intensively explored the interplay of surface, space and colour. The azure blue, which culminates here in the centre of the picture in a free-form, colour-intensive, biomorphic area, seems to be dynamically approaching the edges of the picture in streaks and drops of colour, as if seeking to spill over them.
