Game Table, planned variation. 1961/87. Colour woodcut on ultra-delicate Japanese handmade paper. 79.5 x 49.4 cm (92.5 x 63.3 cm). Signed, dated and numbered. - A tiny, pale brown spot in one place; very slight, barely visible handling marks or creases, or a pressure crease caused by the printing process; the colour is slightly greasy due to the printing process; narrow mounting strips in the upper corners on the reverse; overall in very good condition. A magnificent print, with exceptionally textured colours in the depiction rendered in expressive lines, featuring a wide margin and the artist’s border on all sides.
Brockstedt H 34. – Not listed in Carl Vogel. – One of 50 copies. - Printed by Werner Willenbockel in 1987 with the artist’s permission. - Published by Galerie Brockstedt, Hamburg; bears the gallery’s stamp on the reverse.
