Columbus’s Rainy Day in India. 1971/72. Colour silkscreen print with metal embossing on Schoeller-Stern vellum (with dry stamp). 46 x 58.5 cm (image size 48 x 65.5 cm). Signed and double-numbered. Framed behind glass, unopened. – Overall, appears to be in very good condition. A magnificent print, rich in colour and high in contrast, with a margin.
Koschatzky / HWG 49 (687 A). - One of 3,000 in the run and 300 hand-numbered special edition copies. Within the run, all prints ending in a ‘6’ are additionally hand-signed and hand-numbered. - The sixth sheet from the series ‘Look at it on a rainy day’. - Published by Ars Viva, Zurich, and printed at Dietz Offizin, Lengmoos (each bearing their gold-embossed stamps) as well as two Japanese Inkan stamps. - Based on work 687 ‘Columbus lands in India’ from 1969.
