Provenance: Tiziani Archive, Rome – Estate of Raf Ravaioli – Private collection, Palm Beach, Florida – Tiziani Archives, Palm Beach Auctions, 2019. - The fashion drawings, executed in felt-tip pen, which Karl Lagerfeld produced for the Tiziani fashion label, are characterised by a particularly clear, luminous colour palette. Lagerfeld used the intense hues to effectively highlight fabrics, patterns and fashion details. The linework appears spontaneous and decisive, often with a distinctly dynamic flow, lending the designs an immediate, almost sketch-like freshness. Yet he always maintained stylistic control: lines and colours were applied with precision, never haphazardly or excessively.
