Christo, Jeanne-Claude and Wolfgang Volz
Reichstag, 4 pm. 1995. C-print. 50 x 60 cm. Signed and numbered. Mounted on a passe-partout. Framed under glass (unopened). - Slight dusting. Overall in very good condition. Magnificent print with vivid colours.
One of 150 copies. From Folder I. A portfolio containing four photographs of the wrapped Reichstag by Wolfgang Volz. - The wrapped Reichstag (24 June – 7 July 1995) is one of Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s iconic large-scale projects, in which the building was transformed into a temporary, sculptural object using silver fabric and blue ropes. The photograph from Folder I not only documents the ephemeral nature of the wrapping, but also conveys the monumental presence and atmospheric impact of the project, which ranks among the most significant art events of the late 20th century.
