3 watercolours. Abstract compositions. Dated 1930 and 1931 respectively. Each on vellum. Each measuring between 18 x 13 cm and 27 x 19 cm. Each monogrammed and dated; one sheet unsigned, but bearing a label in another hand on the reverse, as well as a stamp from the Galerie du Pont Royal, Paris. Each mounted in places onto a backing board and beneath a passe-partout. Overall in very good condition.
Three abstract watercolour compositions by Henri Pfeiffer from a period in which his exploration of colour and form crystallised into a mature visual language. Pfeiffer, who joined the Bauhaus and embraced the teachings of Paul Klee at the age of 17, described works from these years as originals from his Bauhaus period.
Each watercolour on laid paper. Each monogrammed and dated; one sheet is unsigned, bearing a handwritten description on the reverse and the stamp of the Galerie du Pont Royal. Each is mounted in places on a backing board and under a passe-partout.
