Seated female nude. c. 1950/1960. Original plaster sculpture (artist’s model). Approx. 115 x 30 x 48 cm. Surface showing characteristic modelling marks. – Discolouration on the reverse. Surface slightly dusty. Minimal scuffs in places. – Overall, very good condition. An excellent model from the artist’s late period.
Donated by the artist to a friend. – This work depicts a young woman seated in a regal pose, rendered in a rigorously structured, classical-modern style, and is characteristic of Kurt Edzard’s expressive late work.
