The starting point is the classical professional image of the Baroque dance master, which Schad deliberately references whilst simultaneously subverting. The staid figure of the dance teacher is transposed onto the protagonists of modern Berlin nightlife, creating a subtle parody of role models and social performance. Overall in very good condition. Splendid print with precise linework. – Sheet directly from the estate. - Cf.: Richter, no. 40. The print is based on an original design from 1929. In 1976, the G.A. Richter edition reissued the motif as a lithograph for the portfolio *Orbis sensualium pictus*. Limited to 38 copies plus 4 E.A.. – For further information, see above.
