Contemporary Art Grosse, Katharina Head and Reading Aid: The Great Dismantling. 2001–2006. Airbrush paint on chipboard. 39.8 x 32.1 x 11 cm. Numbered on the reverse and stamped with the seal of the Retrograde Strategies collective. – Slight wear to the edges; one corner has a small chip. Overall, very good condition. The colours are vibrant. One of 300 copies. – Created in collaboration between the artist and the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Retrograde Strategien. - The starting point for this series of works is a wall measuring 12.5 × 14.5 m, painted and spray-painted on both sides by Katharina Grosse in 2001 at the Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin. Following its dismantling by the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Retrograde Strategien and students from the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art, the material from the work was transformed into multiples in the form of headrests and reading aids. Airbrush lacquer on chipboard panel. Numbered and stamped on the reverse by the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Retrograde Strategien. - Minor wear to the edges; one corner has a small chip.
