Monogrammed, Roman-numbered and marked ‘a.p.’. – Overall in very good and clean condition. An excellent, high-contrast print with an atmospheric, colourful element in the form of the watercolour overpainting. Schellmann 1992.04. – One of 20 copies in the Roman-numbered edition. - Originally published in the Columbus portfolio, Edition Domberger, 1992. - This edition is an ‘épreuve d’artiste’, published by Edition Schellmann, Munich/New York, hand-watercoloured by the artist. - The pictorial space of this sheet is dominated by Hanne Darboven’s characteristic characters, which appear as rhythmically arranged, horizontally crossed loops and, as a record of a process, both document and embody elapsed time. The hand-colouring with watercolour, executed by the artist herself, gives the sheet the character of a unique piece within the edition. The title refers to the context of its creation: The Columbus portfolio was published in 1992 to mark the 500th anniversary of Columbus’s arrival in America.
