Untitled (Light Grey). 1975. Lithograph on BFK Rives-Velin (with watermark), reworked with oil paint. 50.6 x 42.9 cm (64.7 x 55.7 cm). Signed, dated and numbered. - Very few, very slight handling marks; a very slight crease on the upper left outer margin; overall in very good condition and exceptionally beautiful. A magnificent print, almost entirely reworked with paint, featuring a wide margin and a pull-up margin at the bottom.
One of 40 copies. – Unique. – Girke directly visualises his artistic techniques: the brush is rendered on paper with broad strokes and energetic vigour; the monochrome grey appears to be set in motion. This reveals a subtly nuanced colour gradation initiated by the artist, which makes the colour visually perceptible as energy.
