Description
Modern and Contemporary Art German Post-War Modernism Troschke, Wolfgang Untitled. 1982. Mixed media on vellum. 56.5 x 70 cm. Signed and dated. Mounted at points on backing. – Overall in very good condition. Wolfgang Troschke’s artistic practice revolves around the tension between structure and dissolution, between construction and gesture. In his works on paper, drawing, painting and collage merge into open pictorial systems that do not aim for finality, but rather for a sense of process. For Troschke, mixed media becomes an instrument of condensation and serves as his fundamental method for making layers visible, opening up spaces of thought and questioning pictorial logic. This work from 1982 exemplifies this approach: fragmentary line structures, impasto-like inserts and subtle colour modulations engage in a delicate interplay. Mixed media on vellum. Signed and dated. Mounted on backing in places. Overall in very good condition. - Wolfgang Troschke’s artistic practice revolves around the tension between structure and dissolution, between construction and gesture.
