Modern and Contemporary Art French Modernism Dunoyer de Segonzac, André Albert Marie Femme enlevant sa chemise. 1968. Drypoint on heavy-weight vellum. 21.2 x 15.5 cm. (23.6 x 17.5 cm). – Traces of mounting on the reverse. Partial, barely noticeable surface wear. Overall, very good condition. Magnificent, burred print with fine tonal gradation and a narrow margin. With a margin on the right-hand side. Lioré-Cailler 1442. Published in 1968 as the original frontispiece in the two-page commemorative volume *Humanisme actif: mélanges d’art et de littérature offerts à Julien Cain* by Hermann, Paris. The print was produced in a limited edition for the book publication; the printing plate was subsequently scraped clean. The drypoint etching was originally conceived as early as 1954, although only two or three prints were made from the original plate before the edition was printed in 1968 from the reduced-size plate. Drypoint etching on firm wove paper. – Verso showing traces of mounting. Partially with minimal surface abrasion. Overall very good. Splendid, rich impression with fine burr and delicate plate tone, with narrow margins. Deckle edge on the right. Published in 1968 as an original frontispiece in the two-volume festschrift *Humanisme actif : mélanges d’art et de littérature offerts à Julien Cain* by Hermann, Paris. The sheet was printed in a limited edition for the publication, after which the plate was destroyed. The drypoint composition was originally executed in 1954, from which only two or three proofs were made before the print from the reduced plate was produced for the 1968 edition.
