Marlene. 1990. Colour offset lithograph on BFK-Rives Velin (with watermark). 50 x 50 cm (72 x 68 cm). - Paper shows slight handling marks and creases; minimal stains on both sides. Overall in very good condition. Excellent print with a wide margin.
The connection between Gottfried Helnwein and Marlene Dietrich arose through the 1984 documentary film ‘Marlene’, for which the Austrian-Irish artist designed the film poster. The artist and the actress developed a deep friendship that lasted until her death in 1992. The colour offset lithograph was produced in 1990 as part of a limited edition and is based on a photograph of the 1984 film poster.
