One work is slightly yellowed and shows traces of previous mounting. Corners slightly bumped. Occasional crease marks. Overall in very good condition. Consistently excellent, distinctly crisp prints with delicate linework, each with a colour-coordinated plate tone, a wide margin and a hand-cut margin on one side.
In his work, Erdal Alantar (1932–2014) combines gestural abstraction with a line style characterised by Ottoman calligraphy and musical rhythm. It is particularly in his graphic works that this distinctive style crystallises into dynamic, undulating compositions of great lightness and precision. – Following his training in Istanbul and studies in Florence and Rome, he settled in Paris in 1959.
