Untitled, from: *Blank Page*. 1991. Silkscreen print on vellum. 21.2 x 21.2 cm (27.2 x 23.7 cm). Signed, dated and numbered. Mounted on sturdy cardboard along the top edge; here, on the reverse, with an artist’s dedication, which is dated. – Overall in very good condition. A magnificent, deep black print with clean lines and a narrow margin.
One of only 13 copies numbered in Roman numerals. – On the reverse, an artist’s dedication: ‘Max H. Mahlmann, Gudrun Piper: from “Blank Page”, London 1991, for Marianne Tidick, 1 November 1992.’ - Over four decades, Gudrun Piper and Max H. Mahlmann have created a body of work that exemplifies the development of concrete-constructive art in Germany. No other artist couple has explored and further developed the methodological and aesthetic principles of this art movement so consistently, yet each in their own way.
