Froese, Dieter
Two Women. 1967. Colour silkscreen print on acrylic panel, printed on both sides. 85 x 60 cm. Signed and dated; signed and numbered on the reverse. - Perforations in the upper corners; partially slightly rubbed, with occasional, barely noticeable scratch marks and isolated instances of paint wear. Overall in very good condition. Excellent print with overlapping layers of colour.
One of 150 copies. - This acrylic panel with a silkscreen motif was created shortly after Froese moved to New York. The motif of two women in bright neon pink behind a wire mesh fence already foreshadows the socially critical dimension that was to define Froese’s later work, whilst at the same time evoking associations with Pop Art.
