Flowers. 1970. Colour silkscreen print on Velin board. 91.5 x 91.5 cm. On the reverse, stamped in black with ‘published by Sunday B. Morning’ and ‘Fill in your own signature’. - Paper browned with age, with some light discolouration at the edges and slight rubbing in places. Slight scuffing at the edges in places; corners minimally creased. Overall, very good condition. A magnificent, richly coloured print of the iconic, full-format motif.
One of 250 copies. - From the Sunday B. Morning edition, produced in 1970 featuring the iconic floral motif that Warhol first adapted in 1964 for an exhibition at the Leo Castelli Gallery. The image is based on a photograph by Patricia Caulfield and is transformed by Warhol into the vocabulary of Pop Art through artificial colouring and formal reduction.
