Modern and Contemporary Art Spanish Modernism Mira, Victor Beethoven’s 5th Symphony. 1996. Watercolour on sturdy, handmade Similijapan paper. 40.5 x 30 cm. Signed, dated and titled on the reverse. - Reverse shows subtle traces of previous mounting. Overall in very good condition. A work rich in colour. The Spanish artist Víctor Mira emigrated to Germany in 1968, where, in the 1990s, he explored in depth the connection between visual art and music. This resulted in an extensive series of works based on Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony and rendered exclusively in the colours yellow, black and red. Watercolour on strong, handmade Similijapan paper. Signed, dated and titled on the reverse. - Faint traces of a former mounting on the reverse. Overall in very good condition.
