Mohammed KHADDA (Algeria 1930 -1991) International Symposium on African Orality. [Algiers, 1988]. Colour offset poster. 80 × 60 cm *** Colour offset poster (31½ × 23⅝ in.) Trained as a printer, Khadda maintained a special relationship with typography and the printing arts throughout his life. The four posters presented here are a little-known but revealing facet of his work, in which he deploys the same plastic vocabulary as on his canvases - stylised calligraphy, sign structure, strong contrasts - in the service of the major cultural and political events of post-independence Algeria.
