Painted in 1998. Provenance Former Algerian collection, acquired in Algiers around 2010. "For me, colour is space. One colour calls for another, one shape calls for another, like a symphony." Interview with the artist by Ali Gharib. A work of maturity, Ali Khodja moved towards freer, more expressive painting from the 1960s onwards, before moving towards abstraction in the 1980s.
