Description
Silver napkin ring bearing a coat of arms and monogram (old-style hallmark). Weight 24g. A few notes: “This coat of arms is described as ‘azure, a cuirass argent; in the champ gules, in the lower third of the shield a five-pointed star or, surmounted by a helmet and supported by two lions’.” These arms are clearly 19th-century and may belong to the Chambaud family, including Pierre CHAMBAUD, adjutant-commander (1761–????) was the founder, who was awarded the Legion of Honour in 1809 (as evidenced by the star in the field of Gules)”.
