Arsinoe II Philadelphus 277–270/268 BC. Gold octodrachm, a posthumous issue struck under Ptolemy VI to VIII, Alexandria, c. 193/192 BC, AU 27.57 g. Obverse: Veiled head of the deified Arsinoe II facing right, wearing a diadem-adorned wreath and the horn of Amun; sceptre surmounted by a lotus behind the left shoulder; K in the field to the left; peripheral grenetis. Reverse: ΑΡΣΙΝΟΗΣ-ΦΙΛΑΔΕΛΦΟΥ. Double cornucopia tied with a royal diadem, containing pyramid-shaped cakes, pomegranates and various fruits; bunches of grapes hanging from the rim of each cornucopia; peripheral grènetis.
