Río de la Plata Provinces 8-escudo gold coin, 1833 P, La Rioja mint, AU 27.31 g. Ref: KM#21, Fr. 2, Janson-18, Condition: TTB, featuring a sun with a well-detailed face and complete rays, and clear inscriptions. A rare provincial issue from the short-lived La Rioja mint, struck during the turbulent period following the independence of the Provinces of the Río de la Plata. Rarely seen with such relief and such an original colour, this is an important and sought-after gold type within the early Argentine series.
