MOREAU de JONNÈS (Alexandre). Report to the Higher Health Council on cholera morbus, the pathological characteristics and symptoms of this disease, the curative and hygienic measures employed against it, its mortality rate, its mode of transmission and its outbreaks in Hindustan, East Asia, the Indian Archipelago, Arabia, Syria, Persia, the Russian Empire and Poland. The report traces the history of the first cholera pandemic, from its origins in Asia in 1817 up to the year 1831, when cholera reached Austria and Prussia.
