Description
FIELDING (Newton). A collection of animals drawn from life and lithographed by Newton Fielding. Paris, Delpech, undated (1832).
Oblong quarto (26 x 35 cm), title page and 24 lithographed and coloured plates, red half-basane, plain spine decorated with gilt fillets, embossed cloth covers, the name ‘Paul’ in gold lettering in the centre of the upper cover (contemporary binding). Cap bands rubbed, corners clipped.
A fine series by Newton Smith Fielding (1799–1856), an English painter and lithographer specialising in depictions of animals, who lived in Paris from the early years of the July Monarchy until his death.
