SELINCOURT (Jean de). *The Perfect Hunter*, for the instruction of people of standing or others who love hunting, to enable them to practise this pursuit, and to teach huntsmen, beaters, falconers and dog handlers how to serve in large hunting parties. It advises and instructs people of all social standing on which hunting parties are suitable for them, depending on the expenditure they wish to incur; how to ensure that dovecotes and warren are productive; how to stock poultry yards with fowl at little expense; how to ensure ponds are abundant with fish; and how to prevent night-time thieves from raiding said ponds and warrens. - He likewise provides instructions on remedies for curing all diseases affecting dogs, methods to protect them from rabies, and all the most curious matters concerning the practice of hunting (...). The only edition of this rare work, which was never reprinted.
