Alsace – THE KING OF SAINTE-CROIX (François-Noël). Alsace in celebration under the rule of the Louis of France. Featuring a photogravure reproduction of the ‘Depiction of the festivities organised by the city of Strasbourg to mark the King’s convalescence, upon his arrival and during his stay in the city’. Conceived, drawn and directed by J. M. Weiss. Strasbourg, Hagemann & Co., 1880. Quarto, VIII–202 pp., 33 plates, black shagreen, ribbed spine decorated with gilt garlands, gilt garland borders on the covers, interior lace, gilt edges (publisher’s binding). Caps, raised bands and fore-edges slightly rubbed; upper fore-edge slightly split; minor wear to the corners; a few scuffs on the second cover; nevertheless, a fair copy.
