Champagne – BERGIER (Nicolas). An Outline of the History of Reims. With various curious observations concerning the settlement of peoples and the foundation of towns in France. Reims, Hecart, 1625. Quarto, cream vellum, smooth brown calfskin spine with decoration (binding partly contemporary). First edition, illustrated with a vignette on the title page, a portrait of the author by Moreau, five plates and a large fold-out view of Reims. An important history of Reims written by Nicolas Bergier (1567–1623), historiographer of France, and published posthumously by his son Jean Bergier. A fine copy.
