Normandy – LA MÉSANGÈRE (Pierre de) & LANTÉ (Louis-Marie). Women’s Costumes of the Pays de Caux and Several Other Parts of the Former Province of Normandy. Paris, Eudes, [1885]. Folio (348 x 277 mm), 2 unnumbered folios, 10 pages, 1 unnumbered folio, purple glazed half-calf, decorated ribbed spine, gilt scrolls on the covers (contemporary binding). New illustrated edition comprising 105 plates, mainly drawn by Lanté and engraved by Gatine, coloured and mounted on tabs. This copy is enhanced with 2 loose plates (Costume of Saint-Lô and Costume drawn at the fair of St Gorgon, near Rouen). The frontispiece title bears the inscription ‘One hundred and five costumes from the departments of the Lower Seine, Calvados, La Manche and the Orne’. Minor scratches on the covers, several repaired tabs, small pinholes on the two additional plates and on a few folios; otherwise a fine copy. (Colas, 1772).
