Normandy – LA MÉSANGÈRE (Pierre de) & LANTÉ (Louis-Marie). Women’s Costumes of the Pays de Caux and Several Other Parts of the Former Province of Normandy. Paris, Le Goupy, 1925–1926. 3 folio-sized fascicles (32.5 x 25.3 cm), 2 unnumbered folios, 44 pages, 1 unpaginated folio, loose-leaf, grey covers bearing a black print of the frontispiece, a few rare foxing spots, spines of the sheets restored, modern slipcase with a reproduction of the frontispiece on one side and a title label on the back. A fine reprint from the original copper plates of this collection of Norman women’s costumes. The work is illustrated with a frontispiece and 105 coloured plates, engraved by Gatine and drawn by Louis-Marie Lanté and Benoît Pécheux. Descriptions of the plates by Pierre Leboux de La Mésangère. A rare complete set, this series was printed in an edition of 275 copies. A fine copy. (Colas, 1773; Hiler, 526).
