DELVAU (Alfred). An Anecdotal History of the Cafés and Cabarets of Paris. With drawings and etchings by Gustave Courbet, Léopold Flameng and Félicien Rops. Paris, Dentu, 1862. In-12, XVIII-298-[2] pp., frontispiece, vignettes in the text and plates, red half-maroquin with corner pieces, decorated ribbed spine, gilt head, cover preserved (contemporary binding). Slight water-stain. First edition of this work, featuring a frontispiece by Félicien Rops and seven etchings within the text (Andler-Keller, etching by Gustave Courbet; La Californie, etching by Flameng; *Le café Procope*, etching by Flameng; *Le café de la Régence*, etching by Flameng; *Le cabaret du Lapin-Blanc*, etching by Flameng; *Le Café des Variétés*, an etching by Flameng; and a vignette at the end of the volume by Flameng) and the separate print run of Flameng’s etchings.
