PARMÉNIE (Antoine). Around Our Mills. [Walks through Old Montmartre]. Foreword by George Auriol. One drypoint by Steinlen. Twenty etchings by Eugène Delâtre. Twenty colour engravings by Eugène Paul. Paris-Montmartre, Eugène Delâtre, 1922. Large 8vo, [3] leaves (including the etched title page by Steinlen), 160 pp., [3] leaves. (tables, bibliography, ‘printed’ mark), with 20 etched headpieces and 20 colour plates, half-blond morocco, plain spine decorated with cold-stamped longitudinal fillets and small gold and red mosaic pieces depicting rose stems, gilt head, cover and spine preserved (Creuzevault). A few foxing spots. Limited edition of 130 copies, numbered at the press (37/115). A very fine, extremely rare publication, exuding a palpable sense of nostalgia for the Montmartre of the pre-tourism era and before *Amélie Poulain*. Antoine Bourdat-Parménie (1880–1961) was vice-president of the Society of Friends of Old Montmartre. A fine copy, formerly owned by the bookseller Francis Greppe, featuring a large bookplate engraved by Giacomello (the version without the portrait in a medallion), and bound prior to the first cover. This copy is supplemented by: 1. 2 ORIGINAL DRAWINGS signed by STEINLEN (two women’s faces). - 2.
