Quarto, half-havana calf, plain spine with decoration (19th-century binding). First edition, printed on fine laid paper. Complete (as a loose leaf) with the large fold-out map of Europe, engraved by the author, with raised outlines (a cut along a fold, but no loss). This is missing from the copy held by the BnF. Heraldic bookplate of C. Garnier. Bookplate bearing the seal of Paul Chapuy, mining engineer.
