Italy – WEY (Francis). *Rome: Description and Memories*. Paris, Hachette, 1872. Folio, red morocco, richly decorated ribbed spine, large gilt frame decoration on the covers in the style of Du Seuil, double gilt fillet on the edges, wide inner border, gilt edges (contemporary binding by Galette). One of the few top-quality copies on China paper cited by Vicaire VII -1165. It is illustrated with 346 wood-engraved plates in the text, including 72 full-page plates, and a large fold-out map of Rome on heavy paper. A very fine copy in excellent condition. Minimal foxing.
