A pamphlet published in response to the ‘Memoir of the municipal officers of the town of Saint-Pierre, on the island of Martinique, concerning the events that took place in June 1790’. As an extraordinary deputy for Martinique, the author defends the governor of Martinique, Claude-Charles de Damas, who had abolished the municipality of Saint-Pierre following the unrest of June 1790; this is the matter to which the municipal officers take issue in the memorandum to which he responds.
