VERNE (Jules). Around the World in 80 Days, based on the novel by Jules Verne. A fun and educational game. No place, [c. 1915]. Cardboard box measuring 26.3 x 34.8 x 4.2 cm; large colour lithograph on the lid. A game adapted from Jules Verne’s most famous novel, Around the World in Eighty Days. The box contains a colour lithograph of an 80-square Snakes and Ladders board (48 x 56.5 cm, mounted on card in four sections and foldable), a three-page set of rules in in-8 format, a cardboard dice cup, four glass pawns, a small bone dice, and three small lead figurines depicting Phileas Fogg, Miss Aouda, and a figure dressed in black. Box is worn with scuffs; minor scuffs on the corners of the game board; a small tear in the world map; pages of the rules have come loose with small tears reinforced with adhesive tape; one figurine is broken.
