TERENCE. Comoediae nunc primum Italicis versibus redditae [...] Urbino, Girolamo Mainardi, 1736. Folio, XXIV–324 pp. Brown speckled calfskin, decorated ribbed spine, red title label (contemporary binding). Headbands, edges and corners worn, scuffed and with some skin loss. The illustrations consist of a title vignette, a half-page engraving of the author’s portrait within a frame held by two ancient actors, two initial letters, 6 plates at the head of each play, 153 figures at the head of each scene, and 69 tailpieces, all engraved on copper. Title printed in red and black. Restored tear on pp. 39–40. Ex-libris stamp of Paul Chapuy, mining engineer.
