LAMOIGNON (Guillaume de). Collection of Judgements by Monsieur le Premier Président de Lamoignon. Published in Nancy by J. B. Hiacinthe Leclerc; published in Paris by Merlin, 1768. Small 8vo, granulated tan sheepskin, decorated ribbed spine, speckled edges (contemporary binding). Loss to the upper cap and spine. Covers trimmed at the top. Loss of leather on the covers, worn corners. ‘The aim of this great magistrate was to compile the rules of French jurisprudence under various headings, to standardise the decisions by adopting the wisest of them, and to set them out in the form of articles to serve as general law throughout the kingdom’ (Review).
