Quarto, ivory-coloured cardboard binding with gilt decoration, title in red lettering on the spine and front cover (publisher’s binding). Binding worn, with a tear at the top. Edition illustrated with an etched frontispiece after Leloir, 6 plates showing swords and 141 figures in the text. A few small pinholes. Handwritten ‘ex dono’ inscription from the author’s granddaughter.
