Press book belonging to the fencing master Robert, known as Bob Heddle Roboth (1925–2013), comprising around 200 press cuttings, photographs and documents compiled by the fencing master, with annotations, small drawings and handwritten signatures in places. Paris, . An interesting account of fencing in Algeria before the war, centred on one of the great masters of artistic fencing. Robert Heddle-Roboth (1925–2013), a French fencing master, first taught competitive fencing in Oran, where he trained several champions, before working at the Paris Université Club and then at the ACBB. He went on to become one of the leading figures in artistic and theatrical fencing, teaching notably at the ENSATT, the Théâtre National de Chaillot and Marcel Marceau’s school, and training numerous actors including Anthony Hopkins, Antonio Banderas, Jacques Weber and Patrick Dewaere, helping to establish the recognition of ‘a different kind of fencing’ dedicated to the performing arts.
